The Health & Welfare Council of Long Island is holding a job fair on March 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Yes We Can Community Center in Westbury.
The job fair is free for job seekers, and costs $25 for nonprofits that want to recruit talent.
The forum is designed to bring together those who want to help make the region a better place with those who are hiring highly motivated candidates that want to contribute their talents, according to the Health & Welfare Council.
The event comes at a time of record unemployment, when employers say hiring qualified candidates is a challenge.
“Long Island’s nonprofits are needed now more than ever to address the challenges facing our region’s families associated with the physical, psychological and economic impacts of COVID-19,” Rebecca Sanin, president and CEO of the Health & Welfare Council of Long Island, said.
“Those nonprofits are greatly challenged by workforce shortages, and this job fair is an opportunity for individuals who want to invest in serving their fellow Long Islanders to learn about innovative and exciting opportunities,” Sanin said. “They’ll get to meet face to face with organizations that are seeking qualified and compassionate hires. It’s an amazing opportunity.”
