Economic Stability/Health Equity Programs Intern

Timeframe: June 2020- August 2020

Description: HWCLI Seeks an intern to assist with its regional economic resiliency and access to healthcare and human services programming.  The position would be a mixture of administrative, research, and client-facing work. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with organizational and administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, following up with partners, data entry, meeting notes
  • Topical research as needed on healthcare systems, referral processes, best practices, and historic and demographic trends centering on food insecurity, chronic health issues, COVID-19, disaster response, racial disparities in health outcomes, and outreach strategies.
  • Drafting interagency and internal communications based on research findings, drafting partner surveys, assisting with report writing.
  • Some client engagement, if they call with general questions or have discrete asks.
  • Other tasks as needs emerge

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, writing sample required.
  • Prior office work experience a plus
  • Customer service experience
  • Flexibility/adaptability to a faced paced work environment
  • Creative thinker/problem solver
  • Ability to triage several high priority tasks and assess the importance
  • Experience in serving vulnerable communities preferred.
